Quantum telepathy }} Layla Miller is a teenage mutant girl from the Marvel Universe who is surrounded by mystery and secrecy. She first appeared in Marvel’s multi-crossover event House of M and was instrumental in destroying the warped reality created by the Scarlet Witch and restoring it to its original form. After the events of House of M, she became an unofficial member of X-Factor Investigations; she simply appeared at the detective agency one day and has been there since. She is commonly known by her quote, “I’m Layla Miller. I know stuff.” == History == Not much is known about Layla Miller’s life before she met up with Madrox and the other members of X-Factor. It was revealed that her mother and father were killed in a car accident and thus she was forced to stay at an orphanage. There was a “little problem” in which Layla was a mutant, and is quoted as to having “horns” and “flame breath”. Whether this is true or not is debatable, as Layla has always appeared as a normal looking girl. Other events of her life have not been shown nor told by Layla herself. It has been shown that her life was also altered in the House of M reality, where both her parents were still alive. She ran away from home, and eventually assisted most of the superheroes of the Marvel universe by restoring their old memories. Another factor that has been shown is her sudden and unexpected appearance in Mutant Town where she has apparently been assisting the members of X-Factor with small jobs such as filing and advice-giving. The reason she gives is because she has to stop X-Factor from discovering the truth behind the mutant decimation. What her intentions really are is unknown – the only person knowing these is Layla herself. == Abilities == Layla’s revealed that her powers apparently work on the concept of the chaos theory of quantum mechanics. She apparently can’t reveal how her powers exactly work, because she would be “struck down and die on the spot” if she told anyone. However, she has shown the following abilities: Quantum Precognition: Unlike usual precognition, the version that Layla seems to have functions more like omniscience. Layla has the capacity to know everything, or at least everything that can be known about a character including thoughts, feelings. She is even able to view a person's real history at a detailed level. She also has the ability to see possible changes in reality and has a sense of how an event may turn out. Because of this, Layla is able to influence the events that will happen leading up to the actual event that will take place causing it to slightly or completely change to her advantage. She is able to know the very detailed sequences of events that will occur in her immediate area, causing her to say she "knows stuff”. Whether her ability extends globally as well is still unknown. Quantum Telepathy: Layla is able to pierce the veil between divergent realities. She can enable others to see this, by clearing their minds in an unknown manner. Because of this ability, she is automatically immune from psychic influences which attempt to alter her mind and create false memories for her. It’s also assumed that she has very strong psionic shields and attempting to manipulate her with psychic abilities is practically impossible to do. == Personality == Layla is seemingly a normal teenage girl who just wants to help people. She is very helpful in X-Factor Investigations, and is usually doing the filing, cleaning or generally assisting the other members of X-Factor in some way. She’s polite and level-headed, and is always in the background and rarely the centre of attention showing that she likes to be inconspicuous. However, Layla is in reality an expert manipulator who does everything for a much deeper, greater reason. She forced her way into X-Factor in order to stop them from discovering the Decimation and stopping it – something that would have happen if it wasn’t for her presence. She does this by filing the files in such a way that only she can understand why, and keeps the members of X-Factor busy and happy in order not to arouse suspicion. Due to her general persona, and the way in which she seems to do such minimal tasks make it impossible to pin-point her as someone who manipulates others. Therefore, this factor of Layla will not be noticeable to anyone she meets. It’s only listed her as it should be noted it is part of her personality. The main quirk that Layla has is her ability to ‘know stuff’. She alludes and advices others in a vague way about events that happen soon after. She has been shown to direct X-Factor away from possible danger as well as having the knowledge but not stating information particular to some members. When asked how she knows what she knows, she avoids an answer by simply saying that she “knows stuff” because she’s “Layla Miller”. Overall, Layla is just a normal teenage girl. She appears and acts completely ordinary, with the exception of some random advice that she gives others and her insistence that they take it. She’s more the type to stay in the background, and will only act when she has a reason behind it. == Tournament Appearances == {| width="100%" |- style="border: 1px solid #7577B7; color: #000000; background-color: #E4E4F2" !width="25%"|Tournament !width="15%"|Iteration !width="20%"|Status !width="20%"|Sponsored By !width="20%"|Eliminated |- style="border: 1px solid #7577B7; color: #000000; background-color: #E4E4F2" ||Eternity: Lines of Conflict ||MVL00617 ||Sponsor ||BlackMage ||Round 4 |- style="border: 1px solid #7577B7; color: #000000; background-color: #E4E4F2" |}
