'''Reverend (Yasuko Kato)''' is currently the youngest of the nine Muses of the Gamma, not only in served time but in physical age as well.  Due to her upbringing, Reverend can be a keen manipulator of emotion, to the point where even she herself cannot be sure that she truly feels the emotions she does.  As the Muse of Dancing, Reverend is the instructor in grace and poise, cultivating honor, discipline and dignity (as well as putting on a number of dance recitals from time to time).  An additional duty of hers in fairly recent times has been to serve as the personal bodyguard of Septerra, as the Vicers have had a vulnerability exposed in their weakness to the Void.  Reverend is the first Muse of Dancing to ever serve in such a role.

==Skills and Appearance==

Reverend is more than simply a gifted dancer; part of her appeal is that she practices a deviant of the common swordfighting style of ''iaido'', Tsuuretsu-na Tosshin-Ryu; Unrelenting Dash Style.  There are very few named techniques in this style, as it relies primarily on swift and precise 'combos' - the user attacks quickly and harshly, leaving no chance for an opponent to counter.  Reverend bears two Japanese cane swords, a ''katana'' and ''tachi'', labeled Rainbow and Reason respectively, that she uses interchangably in battle.  These swords have no special properties other than their sentimental value, though whether they will be enhanced in future years remains to be seen.  The final aspect of Reverend's abilities is her darker, unstable side: she is half-demon and may transform between each form as she likes.  Her demon's name is ''Shuseifuku'' (lit. 'Bat of the Blood Star'); in this form her hair colors reverse, a pair of bat wings sprout from her back and another small pair above her ears, she acquires venemous claws and fangs, her metabolism speeds up a thousandfold and her strength increases exponentially with every hit.  However, as Shuseifuku is a different personality entirely, it is extremely difficult for Reverend to control her actions in this form -- this, along with a personal shame of simply being half-demon in the first place, leads the Muse to keep this second form a secret from all but her fellow members on the High Council.

Reverend is most comfortable in a plain ''yukata'', but generally she can be found wearing one of her delicate and intricate silk ''kimono'', primped up in elaborate ''geisha'' dress (this includes the silk kimono, a number of underrobes, ornately tied obi sash, and lacquered sandals).  Reverend has unusual physical traits for a human, even knowing that she is an albino woman: her forelock is jet black and refuses to be tamed (this forelock is a marking of the demon in her heart).  While in the past she wore more artifacts reminiscent of her previous history, Reverend has begun to shed such relics (she no longer wears her treasured pince-nez) and, having aged slightly, has begun to take on a more womanly appearance.

==History==

Reverend's parents were brutally murdered in her infancy by an infamous demon, which invariably caused a demon of her own to infect her heart.  Fearing for their lives, the townspeople of Reverend's village set out to deliver their 'curse' onto another, who turned out to be a humble dojo sensei.  Under his discipline and tutelage - and the obscene boost in strength from her demon - Reverend easily mastered the iaido teachings of the dojo, and was horrified to learn from her mentor that she was a demon child.  This revelation led to her abandonment of the dojo and into a nearby Gion okiya, where she began to learn the arts of a geisha, assuming Gion was where the 'bad seeds' fell to.  During her training, she met a young man her age, [[Shizumaru Hisame]], who unintentionally awoke her demon and ''in''tentionally helped to put it back to rest.  Some years after this event, Reverend met Septerra, who had visited the geisha to watch her perform her renowned dance.  The meeting ended up in Reverend's favor when Septerra offered her a new life in Arcadia, free of prejudice, and she gratefully accepted.

Having completed her inital training as a Muse, Reverend has begun teaching young Eternals and other races in the arts of grace and discipline; however, she has been seen quietly sneaking off on her own to her home planet, ostensibly to escape Babara, but truthfully to catch up on old times.

Reverend is still accustomed to using her native suffixes (''-san, -kun, -sensei'') when addressing others, and has a slight problem with R/L sounds even today, even though her Universal tongue has improved vastly.
