The Guilty Gear series of games deserves special mention within the overstory of the Survivor series. Starting from Survivor X, and continuing in Survivor XII and Survivor XVI, a running side story regarding the world of Guilty Gear, Guilty Gear X, and Guilty Gear XX has progressed, involving the Void, the Eternals, and other entities in the events of this world. This special story continuity is referred to as the "Survivor Guilty Gear Continuity," based in the universe designated GGX 00001. This universe is Singular, with "regular" Guilty Gear continuity (Providing for storyline in future games that contradicts Survivor continuity) beginning at 00002. == In a nutshell/random bits == In the beginning was the Void. Cliche, but true. The Void established a foothold via influencing the Shuusen Kanrikyoku (Postwar Administration Bureau).
"That Man", Jacob Metzen, is an Eternal. He entered GGX 00001, using his Singularity Effect to keep the Void's influence constrained to one iteration. He also began the Gear Project to... fight the Void or something. I dunno, I'm not the most knowledgeable about regular or Survivor GG canon.
The Shuusen's kinjuu project, which resulted in Eddie, was accomplished by sampling and attempting to duplicate Void-Beasts. However, the Void-Being sampled was none other than King Vire Agraumar, making Eddie Vire's son in a manner of speaking.
Tesu Undersn (Testament) is a god after the events of Survivor X. == Guilty Gear Timeline == This is an older version of the Guilty Gear timeline, as compiled by Dry. It's not current, but most of it's more or less accurate. Bolded bits have been editted in by me to fit the Survivor continuity, the rest is more or less accurate from...wherever I pulled it from. Bits with *AT* beside them are from the alternate timeline. All dates listed are relative to the time of universe GGX 00001. My head hurts. If you have any points you want to raise, please let me know before you edit them in. (unspecified point of time in ancient history)

The bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki take place. The tremendous discharges of energy generated by these bombings slightly alters the path of the Flow, placing GG Earth in a region of very strong Flow. It is likely the effects of this shift that begin to weaken the fabric of the Continuous on and around GG Earth, making the world highly susceptible to Void incursions. 1960?
A Russian man by the name of Grigori Kazamirovich Ivanov is 'possessed' by the Void - infused by the Void's energy and purpose. Grigori Ivanov becomes the Void's scout. 1965?
Having made an initial assessment, the scout sets out to carry out the purpose given him by the Void, to work to bring about a Void invasion. The first phase of his plan is to weaken humanity so there will be less resistance when Void invasion begins. To that end, he schemes to sow political instability across the world, eventually triggering a massive global war. He begins by infiltrating the government of his home country, the USSR. 1988?
The Creator dies. 1989?

Ivanov learns of the presence of Eternals onplanet, and their involvement in Gear Project. He infiltrates a Void-possessed pawn. The pawn is destroyed before relaying any useful information, but when Metzen reports it to Cronimus, the Delta is alarmed. He orders Metzen to use his improved Gear Cells in human testing to conclude this phase of Gear Project, then move to another world. Metzen, aghast, refuses, but Cronimus sends security personel under his command to force Metzen's hand. Frederick, confident of Gear Project's work, volunteers. 2016
Frederick, the first prototype in the Gear Project, escaped the laboratory shortly after undergoing the Gear conversion. Frederick, now no longer human, designs a Gear Cell Control Device in order to maintain a human appearance. During Frederick's escape, he inadvertantly kills Lydia Robertson, an Omicron Prime of Energy who was working as Metzen's lab assistant. Distraught that things have come to this, Metzen severs all ties with Cronimus. The Delta is powerless to take action against him out of fear of overextending himself and causing the High Council to become suspicious. Ivanov continues his machinations, while Metzen, disgusted with himself and the Eternals, goes into hiding. 2072?
Slayer finally crosses paths with Metzen. After a few misunderstandings are resolved, the two compare notes. Slayer gives Metzen his insights into global politics, revealing that the world appears to be on the verge of a time of tremendous instability that seems to be leading up to a final World War, but that he is unable to identify the root cause of this instability. Metzen, knowing of the presence of the Void on GG Earth, is able to hazard a guess. Now that the two realize that the Void is pushing the world to the brink of disaster, they devise a plan of action. Slayer founds the Assassin's Syndicate as a means by which to assemble a force of highly-skilled human warriors who can oppose the Void threat, under the auspices of a unit designed to "punish those who are above the law" which, to a degree, individuals such as Ivanov are capable of. Metzen begins gathering his notes on Gear Project. 2073
With the world poised on the brink of disaster from the Void's machinations, Metzen takes action. Using Lydia's Eternal body as the source material, That Man completes a "Perfect Gear" that is subservient to his plans...Justice. His plan is to use a Gear army to take over the world, with the intent of uniting the world to present a unified front against the impending Void invasion. Unaware that Justice has been compromised, America launches a war using Gears, attempting to overwhelm the rest of the world. However, Justice's corruption showed itself swiftly...using her powers as a Commander Gear, she "reprogrammed" all other Gears, making them her minions. She then set out to execute the command programmed into her by the Void..."genocide". This led to the formation of the Holy Order and the beginning of the Crusades. 2099

He is implanted with the command of "mankind erasure", similar to Justice's programming...however, against all odds, Tesu manages to retain his self-concept.
