Within the ancient spans of the universe known as the Continuous are histories that span millions of years. Though the Eternals have existed for a span of time that seems almost impossible to most, there are creatures older, races that came before and faded into the obscurity of history. The Endless are a race of quasi-immortals that pre-date the Eternals by several millennia. Created by the Old God [[Aniishvara]] the Endless were forged for a different purpose, but a noble cause none the less. ==History== The Old Gods, of which the entity known as [[The Creator]] was one of the most powerful (or the most powerful), were mysterious beings that transcended the common concept of being 'alive'. It is as though they were thoughts, ideas, or concepts given life and persona. When the Multiverse was formed, many of the Old Gods have existed for billions of years, their essence permeating within the [[Flow]] and spreading across the great Tree of the Multiverse. These beings became archetypical figures in the myths and spiritual beliefs of countless races. The relations between the Old Gods - their friendships, feuds, creations, and deeds - moved the multiverse itself. One such Old God saw fit to seed a world with the essence of life, a representation of Memory and Thought, this Old God wished to create a race of lore keepers and historians who would catalogue the events of time itself and pass it down through the ages to their children. They would be the unending scribes of creation, the endless records of that which has been. This Old God, whom the Endless call [[Aniishvara ]](The one who has no Superior), stayed with the Endless as they grew from primal animalistic primitives infused with the powerful fragments of an Old God's persona into cultured societies over the course of millennia. Aniishvara guided and inspired them with divine will, until one day Aniishvara faded into the cosmos, her voice growing more distant and silent with each passing era. The Endless called this time, “The Cascade” for it signaled the first time of chaos among their people, a time that would lead to global war, and eventually the disollution of the idea of separate nations, and the founding of the true Endless society. By the time Aniishvara had faded from the forefront of history, the [[Creator]] had focused her attention on creating the [[Eternals]], and thus for a short time, the Endless and the Eternals coexisted (unbeknownst to each party) in a time somewhere around the [[First Void War]]. In this most ancient time the Endless knew little of and cared little for the Eternals, the distance between their legacies being so vast that one would find it trivial to even know they coexisted. The society of the Endless existed much as an affront to the order the Eternals seemed to represent. The Endless were their diametric opposite in design and characteristics, where Eternals were “born” among their own society from the will of the Creator, the Endless were trans-substantianted fragments of Aniishvara's very divine essence. Though not deific in any true sense, the race known as Endless possessed a unique trait allowing their continual existence throughout the centuries. Not truly immortal like the Eternals, the Endless live on through [[Advents]] of the base consciousnesses that Aniishvara had implanted within the savage primatives of Thallien eons ago; they are re-emergences of their original forms that perpetuate their memories and ideas. The Advents are not exact duplicates of their predecessors, but are wholly new individuals that are capable of accessing the vast wealth of memories that their predecessors contained. Advents are born, like all creatures from any variety of races. In the time of the [[Lunarian Council]] long before the sundering of Thallien the Endless Advents only occured on the world of Thallien where Aniishvara's presence was strongest. At puberty an Advent would enter a state of intense meditation at the instruction of the Council for roughly a week, where they will walk through the memories and partial experiences of the past Endless they are an Advent of. In some instances, an Advent embraces the personality and ideals of their predecessor and in essence becomes a reincarnation of them, while others use their knowledge and power for their own ends. On other occasions, there is a battle of will over control of the body; this is espescially true in the case of Advents who are members of the Lunarian Council. The stronger personality becoming the dominant entity. The Endless were not a populace people, denominating roughly two million at the height of their society, spread out across a single vast world known as Thallien. The world of Thallien existed with five moons, and the primitive Endless of aeons past saw these moons as Gods. In a more enlightened time, the traditions of the past remain in some form ad the Endless are ruled by a Council of Five, known as the Lunarians. These Endless are believed to be the “oldest” of memory among their kind, with Advent Memory stretching back to animalistic dreams and nightmares from a more primal era when divine will was fused with primitive flesh. The Endless once appeared roughly as human, though their forms tended to deviate as they grow more wise and powerful, in the current era Endless can spring from any intelligent race that has a soul. The more advanced the Advent, the more likely their bodies will undergo fantastic changes as they becomes suffused with the energies of the universe itself and the immense powers wielded by their predecessors, this facet stays true even in the current era. Compared to Humans, Endless have a similar tenacity and drive to succeed, but unlike humans they lack the adaptability of short-sighted creatures who live but for a scant few decades. The Endless, as store-houses of vast memories act in broad strokes, sometimes carrying out adgendas across several Advents. Most of the older Endless who have embraced their past personas lose their own sense of self, and become more of a vessel for the memories they contain. The original society of the Endless was a rigidly structured one, dominated by the Lunarian Council without question among their people. At the height of their civilization, before the exile of [[Anuthi]], the Endless were beginning to probe the outer-reaches of the continuous and considered expanding their ideals of rulership, society and philosophy to other worlds and into the multiverse itself, which they had become aware of through experimentation with dimensional magic. Lacking any tools such as the [[Memory Pools]] the Endless were incapable of such long-term multiversal exploration. The Endless delved little into the Multiverse in their ages, expeditions into other realities were primarily as resource gathering or scientific exploration. Only in the true height of their society did they ever consider spreading their governing system to other worlds, dimensions, and planes. What makes the Endless so powerful though, is their will to survive. They are, in essence, the personification of one’s will to live on in the memories of others.
