'''Vante''' - a name that arouses thoughts of dark mysteries and secrets whenever it is mentioned. His title was the Omega, and his job was to end the lives of all things in existence when their time had come. No mere dealer of death, Vante was known to sometimes eradicate whole worlds into unexistence, condemning them to the endless nothingness of the [[Void]]. It was for this reason that Vante was shunned by the Eternals - in the multiverse they watched over, he brought things to their end, even in times they couldn't understand why. Others' attitudes did not phase Vante, however, and he went on doing his duty as only he could do. As a member of the High Council, he clashed often with the Alpha, always providing a counterpoint for consideration. Even the oldest Eternals recall Vante - he has been around since the very beginning, and has mysterious ties to the Creator herself. He has participated in every major conflict the Eternals have been a part of and knows the society like few others do. Although Vante's nature is to antagonize others, most often he does to to make them consider many sides of an issue or idea. He was fond of debates, and of strategic games. In the events of [[Survivor IV]], Vante and the Creator 'died', choosing to transcend their existences and bolster the framework of existence, conducted through the Uniter, Magus. Thus, Vante is no longer among the living. As there has yet to be an Eternal who can fill his role, he has been the first and only Omega. ==Skills and Appearance== A shadowy man, Vante's clothes of choice were somber black robes. He had a head of long, black hair to match, reaching down even past his waist. Only his hands and head were exposed, like phantom limbs from the darkness. With sharp, pale features and eyes as red as garnet, his gaze made most uneasy. It is unknown whether Vante was master of combative arts or magics. Having served in many wars, it is assumed that he was, but the true nature of his abilities and the extent of his power is still a mystery. What power allowed him to end existences across the multiverse at the proper times? ==History== Vante was not born or made an Eternal - rather, he was the 'shadow-self' of the Creator; her darker side split into another being, allowing her to achieve true purity. He was less than a god, yet greater than an Eternal, and he knew of his own origin. From the very beginning of the Eternal civilization, he was there, performing his role of Omega, the Great Ender. In all the major conflicts of the Eternals against the Void, Vante served a terrible yet necessary role - the final extinguishing of worlds, dimensions, and realities too contaminated by the Void to be recovered. In this task he wielded a strange sense of impartiality that most people - both mortal and Eternal - could not understand. For this grim task he became strongly disliked by many who had lost friends, family, and loves to his 'multiversal maintainence work'. Vante knew of a great many secret things - about the multiverse, the nature of the Void, the Old Gods, and numerous other things that had since been lost to history. These things he never revealed, as he considered most Eternals too closed-minded to consider his words. Although he was her antithesis, he would sometimes work with the Creator on various issues that remain unknown to the Eternals even now. Vante did, however, form one crucial friendship - with an upstanding young Eternal serving in the [[Epedemic War]]. That young leader, cool-headed and analytical to a fault, was named Fabian. After that war, he would go on to receive nomination to be an Epsilon of the Beta, a position in which he served until after the Third Void War, when he succeeded the position of Beta. All the while, he met often with Vante, sometimes in secret, eager for the knowledge that only the secretive Vante could provide. Vante never took even one Epsilon, but such was the closeness between he and Fabian that some wondered. Vante always dogged Fabian, forcing him to constantly re-examine the things he knew and teaching him strategy and tactics through cunning games. Their odd friendship continued up through the time of Vante's death, which Fabian lamented. Vante had passed on to integrate with the great framework of the multiverse, but he had not lost all his gravity in the world of the living. Through a mysterious means, he was able to speak directly into Fabian's mind during the events of [[Survivor XVI]], filling the Beta's head with doubts, questions, and strange knowledge. As always, Fabian will not speak of all that Vante told him at those times. Even now, events in motion may be happening according to Vante's grand design, but it's anyone's guess what his true plans were - or ''are''. [[Category:High Council members]]
