'''Wayne''' has been a member of [http://forum.randominsanity.org/ Random Insanity] and a participant in the [[Survivor]] tournaments since 2002, beginning with [[Rurouni Taikai I]] (discounting the abbreviated Survivor 6). He was a writer, roleplayer and gamer before learning about [[Survivor]], and enjoyed the games from the start. Wayne is known for several main traits in the [[Survivor]] community. For most of his participations he played villains from video games and anime titles (humorously, he began this trend on a whim, when the host of S6 complained about the lack of "Dark" characters in the tournament; and kept that tradition for nearly all his remaining sponsorships). Later, as he witnessed what he felt was an unfortunate decline in the quality of the tournaments, he became increasingly outspoken against rules, systems, and other players and hosts of the continuing [[Survivor]]s, and on several occasions left a tournament in protest. He has since resigned from active participation, only planning to sponsor again in the tournaments he had already agreed to join. Wayne is a fan of traditional RPGs and [http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/welcome D&D], and that interest heavily influences his writing, which tends to revolve around dialogue exchanges and action sequences. He believes that "the plot" should ''never'' trump game mechanics-- that is, he believes that when rules in a fantasy are established, they are to be followed-- and enjoys arguing with those who believe differently. Finally, Wayne is a major proponent of the "unwritten rules" behind [[Survivor]], such as playing honestly, not attacking another for personal reasons, and not abusing the spirit of the rules. He is increasingly in the minority position in these views, which more than any other factor contributed to his conditional retirement from [[Survivor]]. He believes that, as time passes and competition eclipses sportsmanship, the end of one of his formerly favorite hobbies nears. Of course, he could be wrong-- it's happened at least once before. He will be co-hosting the upcoming Survivor 18 (with [[San Draco]]) in December, which will be adding substantially to the Eternals canon, with the primary intent of streamlining and clarifying it as much as possible.
