Gryz's Adios
Alright, while i am utterly confused
about why FFO was inaccessabile for an entire day and how the
tournament shall deal with its new setback, I am positive of
one thing, that i have been elimated. In a rather spectacular
manner as well. Although I remained essentially untouched for
the entire first and second round, I managed to accumulate a
handful of votes in the last 45 minutes of round two. As
for continuing as a fallen, I am against it. Gryz, according
to my own intro, joined the tournament on accident, so i see
no reason for him to continue haunting contestants form the
great beyond. I had wicked fun, I hope to particpate in
more of these tournaments. Krizak, i think you have done a
tremendous job. To the several of you whom i used as
projectiles, may you continue to be either convientently
placed, or loud, heavy, and spiked.
Adios
all.

I'm gonna need guns. Lots of guns.
Leaning against the wall, Driscoll took a second to
survey his surroundings. Looks like a classroom - there are
desks, and a board and pulpit at the front... I wonder what
they teach in here? Must be some kinda intelligence class,
cause there's no way anyone could learn combat from books!
Nosing around the room, he spotted something lying
against the a desk in the corner.
Looks like.. a
sword? Ah well, who am I to look a gift horse in the
mouth?
He walked over and picked it up.
Strange... seems to have a trigger...
He aimed
it at the wall, and squeezed the trigger - not much happened -
the blade vibrated slightly.
Looks like a sword
blade, with a gun... a gun...blade?
...naw. Lame.
A blinking
light on the computer caught his eye...
-----
Yes, that's my personal opinion on gunblades - they
don't actually shoot bullets, they vibrate the blade to cause
extra wounds. And they're a bit lame
And... come back, Simplistic Hero! If not
this time, come back in the future!

Exeter FFOS6:
Edge
|
Edge stopped at the doorway to the
infirmary. Guess I'd better be stealthy about it...
Quietly, the ninja peeked his head in, only swing it
back immediately at a loud, angry-sounding boy yelling at the
group of SeeDs standing around him.
"Damn you all!
Where is that little punk, I'll kill him! No one does this to
Seifer Almasy, no one!"
"Maybe we could find the guy
for you, ya know..."
"Shut the hell up, Raijin!"
Edge listened for a few moments. Apparently, the angry
guy had been attacked by the man in red Edge had fought during
the last two rounds. Wonderful. Good to know he's still
around...
There didn't seem to be anyone he knew
in the room, so Edge started to turn away. It was then that he
noticed the sword-like weapon leaning against the wall.
"Sa-weet!"
The king quickly snatched up
Seifer's Hyperion and then silently crept away. A moment
later, he heard the angry boy's voice increase in volume.
"Hey, Raijin, where did you put the Hyperion?"
"Like, right there, ya...er...where'd it go, ya know?"
"SHIT!"
It was then that the ninja broke into
a run across the large hall for the library on the other side.
Unfortunately for him, the floor was rather slippery.
"Whooaaaa..." A deafening crash echoed through the
Garden. The Hyperion gracefully flew from the fallen ninja's
hand to the doorway once more.
"Oh, here it is, ya
know!"
"Owwww..."

Benjamin51786 Thoughts in CHAOS
|
Whoo hoo! Booyaka! We're back online!
YAY! The mighty record-holder for votes is back in the saddle!
What did you all do while ffo was down? I was
lamenting my loss, over and over... Oh well, now I can fight
with even more impunity! -----
Chaos couldn't
believe it. Blasted mortals! Why don't they stay dead? How
can I possibly fight them when I can't move?
Chaos
lifted up his claws. The blood was already gone. What in
the Time Loop?!? The golden scales were shrinking, and
disappeared. In their place was a suit of mithril armor. While
still taller than most mortals, he was now only seven and a
half feet tall, by their standards. WHAT! Not this form,
not again!
But it was too late. Chaos, too
weakened in his true body, had reverted back to the knight
which he had enslaved, so many centuries ago. "At least in
this form I can wreak vengeance for my loss!"
Garland
now lifted his hands. "Master of Blades, I have need of you!"
Masamune appeared in his hand. In his other,
Driscoll's blade also appeared. At his side, in it's sheath,
was the Sun Sword which Garland had been proficient in before
Chaos's domination. "Now, mortals, you shall see the wrath of
Chaos. The world will shake and tremble!" ---
What is this? Garland looked around. The
buildings here... were so bizarre. Shaped into domes, Garland
noticed a sign. Balamb Garden Main Gate
Balamb... Garden? I do not understand. No matter,
the others must be here. I shall destroy them all!
Garland strode in. Inside was the corpse of Bowser,
Boomer's katana still in it's claws. "Mighty were the fallen,
yet I will have need of this blade. It is far better than what
I could have expected."
Another sheath appeared at
Garland's side. In went the katana, and Garland continued on.
A strange looking man in black pants and a jacket with a scar
on his face was staring out over the water. Garland stepped up
to him. "Pardon me, sir. Have you seen a large amount of
strange looking people inside that building behind you?"
"...Whatever." The man shrugged his shoulders. I
see... obviously he does not know. Either that, or he does not
care. One or the other.
Garland sighed, and passed
him by. The door warden stopped him. "Excuse me, you cannot
enter without a pass!"
"Pardon me, I am new here.
Could you tell me where I am?"
"Yeah, you're in Balamb
Garden. And, unless you have a pass, I suggest you leave."
Garland sighed. Imbecile. "Perhaps you do not
understand. I am here for the tournament."
"I don't
care if you are here for Headmaster Cid, no one gets in
without a pass!" The mortal dared to lock the gates against
Garland.
Garland reached out with one hand, and ripped
the gate from it's hinges. Tossing it aside easily, Garland
turned to the old guard. "I enter wherever I wish. Do not
forget it, mortal!"
Garland continued on to what
appeared to be a large reception area. The designer obviously
attempted to attain a "home away from home" appearance. The
guard was yelling to no one in particular. These mortals
appear interesting. Perhaps, in a longer stretch of time, they
would prove an interesting study. But now, they are only in
the way.
A loud siren called over the Garden.
"Attention, an intruder has entered the Garden! Correction...
many intruders have entered the Garden. All lower classmen,
please report to your classrooms. All SeeDs, prepare to
repulse invaders."
Garland smiled inside his helmet.
These mortals... were attempting to stop him? Two, the
black-jacketed one and one with a sky-blue outfit over black
with a blaster in her hand, stood before him. "Stop right
there!"
Garland smiled. "I am sorry. I do not have
time for you. Please excuse me."
Garland then jumped
into the air, and landed many feet away from them. A human
from before was there. "YOU!"
The ninja spun around.
"Who are you?" Edge asked.
Garland laughed, low but
menacing. "I am your doom. The one you struck down has
returned again. Are you ready?"
Edge pulled out a
strange-looking device. Garland smiled, and knocked it out of
his hand. "There is no point in using that which will harm
you."
Edge drew his sword, the Murasame. Garland
chuckled. "I see. I would not be fair to fight you, when you
have one sword and I have four. Very well then."
Edge
had a small look of hope as Garland drew the Masamune. "This
is yours, is it not?"
"Yeah, it's mine. Now give it
back!"
"As you wish."
Garland ran toward Edge.
The ninja, too late, realized his position. Garland slammed
into him. "It was foolish to trust an enemy..."
Edge
fell to his knees as the Masamune was stabbed into him.
"...And even more foolish to expect mercy from me!"
Garland stepped back. "It is far too easy to kill you,
now. You do not deserve a quick death. I will destroy all you
hold dear, first. Starting with... her!"
Edge's eyes
went wide. "Stay away from her, monster!"
Garland
smiled, unseen behind his expressionless helmet. "That is
exactly what I wished to hear. Now, you would like to keep
that blade, correct?"
Edge, expecting the response,
said nothing. Garland smirked. "Very well then. Since you have
no attachment to the Masamune..." Garland jerked the Masamune
from Edge. "...You may have this one!" Garland stabbed
Driscoll's blade deep into Edge.
Garland stepped
towards Edge, and whispered. "Maybe now you will understand
how it feels, to lose everything and be unable to stop the one
you hate."
"W-who are you?"
"I am Chaos, the
most powerful. I am the Master of Time, and the doom of all
who oppose the Darkness. I am also Garland, the most powerful
of Knights. You are fortunate. You are the first to fall
before me."
Edge only gasped as Garland left. If
Edge wishes to stop me, he is welcome. I will be only too
happy to strike him down again. Now, where is Rydia?
-----
OOOH, evil! Can't wait to see what happens, Exeter! Mintaka,
watch your back!
Recap: Edge now has Driscoll's sword.
Attack: One really nasty blow against Edge.

Edge

Nice, Benjamin! I'm really glad you're
still around, you're an excellent adversary.
Looks
like we're both collecting weapons, now...
*****
Edge groaned in horrible pain.
It had been that demon, Chaos. He was sure of it. He didn't
think he could move if he tried, and as it was, he didn't want
to.
The ninja coughed harshly, leaving a small pool of
blood next to his face. Oh...shit. He was dying, and
there was nothing to be done. That thing was going to run
around the castle, destroying everything in its path, and
there was nothing he could do. He couldn't even protect...her.
Rydia...she's...its next target...
"NO!!" Edge
screamed in pure fury, lifting a hand high into the air, then,
with more strength than he had ever possessed, managed to pull
himself to the wall, a crimson trail in his wake. Using the
wall as support, he pushed himself to a sitting position, then
found the one remaining potion he owned and swallowed it
quickly.
After several seconds, he took a deep breath,
then stood. Pain still shot through his body, though his life
was no longer in danger. Carefully, he picked up the fencing
sword from the floor and added it to his growing collection of
weapons.
That's it. Time to kick ass.
Raging, the ninja headed after Garland.

OOC: Mwahahaha...time to mess with
Squall! ----
"Um...it's...hard to explain...mind
if I just tell you later?"
Stupid...
I
tried...
The guy swung his blade.
"I don't
think so. I want an explaination. And it better be quick."
"Ok...well..."
Tell him...or not?
"Yeah...?"
I opened my mouth, then closed it,
then opened it again. I catiously took a step forward. He
didn't slice me into pieces. Well, that was a start.
"Well, I'm participating in this...thing," I said
lamely. "And I got warped here. As did all those other people
you're seeing around here. It's not under my control.
I...um...don't have any desire to hurt anyone."
He let
his blade hang down to his side, looking at me.
"We
can't trust everything we hear," he stated.
"I'm...aware of that," I replied nervously.
"Whether you're telling the truth or not...I can't let
you go."
I gaped.
"Can you be so heartless?" I
asked disbelievingly. "Look at me. Do I look like a girl who's
going to go on a rampage killing everyone? You know I'm
innocent! Admit it! Why won't you let me go!?" I took yet
another step towards him.
This time, he brought his
sword down, slashing toward me. I barely had time to get my
rod up in time to block it. His next words are ones I
should've expected to hear, but never wanted to.
"I'm
a mercenary. It's my job."
He slashed again. Shoot,
I'm on the defensive. I won't have time to chant for a
spell...
"Listen, if you'll just hear me out for one
secon--"
"No," he inturrupted me before I could finish
the sentence. He begain to swing his sword so fast I could
barely follow it. Back, fourth, back...
He obviously
prefered to fight rather than talk. Pity I'm the opposite...
"Maybe it's your job, but in killing innocents also
you job!?"
"...Whatever..."
I was buying time.
His attacks were getting slower.
"Whatever? So you're
also brainless puppets? That's nice to know..."
Hm. I
should take taunting lessons from Nall or Kyle sometime. I'm
getting lots of practice...
His face contorted into a
slight rage.
"If that's what it takes to get the job
done," he said briskly," so be it." He stopped for a second.
Yes! An opening!
I got down on my hands and
slide kicked him into his legs. He stumbled, and I took the
oppertunity to retreat backwards in time to chant a spell.
"By the power of Althena...Flame Bomb!"
A
fireball blazed in my hand, and it flew towards him, hitting
him straight in the chest. He staggered, closing his stormy
grey eyes as if to lessen the impact. Reinforcements were
already coming towards us. Time to make a tactical retreat...
"Commander Leonhart!" One yelled.
"Squall!"
exclaimed aother.
Squall Leonhart. Well, I couldn't
have thought of a better name for him myself, was my
fleeting thought as I ran in the other direction.

Jeez, third round and people are already
trying to guess my character's motive... Too bad your
characters won't find out the truth until much later.
Also, please don't turn this into an FFVIII
bash-a-thon. I happen to like FFVIII, and I don't want to see
the characters degenerate into those stupid stereotypes that
FFVIII bashers always seem to cojure up out of nothingness.
That doesn't stop me from picking on a certain cocky
bastard, though...
-----
"Get out of my
way right now! That red-robed bastard will DIE!!!"
"Seifer, ya-ya know, perhaps you should lie back down,
ya know..." Raijin stood in front of the door to the
infirmary, trying to reason with one of his two best friends.
"You took a nasty shock back there, ya know, and p-perhaps you
shouldn't be back on your-"
"Shut up, you idiot! I'm
in charge here, and I say we go back out there, find that
mage, and beat him within an inch of his life!" Seifer grabbed
Raijin's shoulder and literally threw the larger man out of
his way, and began to leave.
"STOP." Fujin stepped in
front of the door and held up her hand to Seifer. "DON'T GO."
"Don't tell me that you're backing down, Fujin! You've
never turned down a challenge."
"BACK OUT, NO." Fujin
stood her ground. "SEIFER'S ACTIONS, RASH. NEED PLAN."
"Grrrrr..." Seifer seethed at not being able to run
straight into battle, but there was no denying Fujin's logic.
They would never last against so many opponents without some
form of strategy. "Alright, fine! But we had better come up
with a plan quickly, before Squall gets himself and his wussy
SeeDs into too much trouble!"
"I'm afraid no plan will
help." The three turned to see Yume sitting at Dr. Kadowaki's
desk. "You three will stand no chance against the greatest
warriors of a dozen realities."
"Who are you, and how
the HELL did you get into here?" Seifer asked, raising his
Hyperion as he spoke.
"I am Yume, and I am responsible
for the intruders being here. We are holding a tour-" Yume was
almost caught off-guard by Seifer's sudden attack, but she
still managed to effortlessly jump out of her seat. She landed
behind him just as the Hyperion cut her chair in half. "You
fool! Do you even know who you are attacking?"
"Yes.
I'm attacking the person responsible for the attack on Garden!
Raijin! Fujin!" Seifer slashed at Yume again, but she jumped
back easily. She still felt a blow hit her in the chest,
however. His weapon! It's vibrating, sending out a pulse of
energy to increase it's damage! How ingenious!
"SAI!" Yume turned and saw a bladed disc plowing
through the tiled floor directly towards her. Just as the
blade popped up to hit Yume, she caught it, and quickly tossed
it towards Raijin. The weapon sliced clean through Raijin's
staff, and embedded itself in his shoulder, causing him to
fall to his knees in pain.
Yume spent no time
contemplating the fallen warrior, and ran towards Fujin.
Dodging a few well-timed kicks (the martial art type, NOT the
shin kicks), the young girl managed to grab Fujin and threw
her across the room and out of the window.
The victory
against the two was short-lived, however, as Seifer launched
another attack at Yume. The blade managed to hit it's target
this time, strike Yume in the back; however, the magical
fabric that made up her yakuta resisted the blow. "What..? How
is that possible!?"
Yume didn't respond, but instead
pulled out her katana and spun around, blocking Seifer's next
blow. The two exchanges blows and parries, and Seifer admitted
to himself that his opponent was very good, possibly even
better than himself.
NO! I am the best! I will not
be defeated! NEVER!!! Seifer put every ounce of effort he
possessed went into his duel, making his blows stronger, his
parries faster. As he fought Yume, it began to seem that he
might win.
Hmm, a vibrating sword... Yume
thought, only paying a little attention to her battle with
Seifer. I wonder how I could pull that off... I know!
Yume began to concentrate, and her blade began to warm up.
Soon, it was hot to the touch, and even the elaborate wooden
hilt began to be uncomfortable to the young warrior. Here
goes... Leaping backwards, Yume swung her blade in the
direction of Seifer.
A moment later, the former
Sorceress' Knight emerged from the other side of the infirmary
wall. Though his continued consciousness resulted in him
feeling the full brunt of the blow, it also prevented him from
drowning when he hit the ocean below him.
Yume stood
in awe, gaping at the hole in the wall. Well... I wasn't
expecting that... Was that the result of the sword I
took from Saint, or are my powers such that I change
everything I touch... into something more destructive? She
looked at her sword for a moment longer, then turned and
walked out of the infirmary.
After she left, Raijin
slowly stood to his feet, and stared at the blade protruding
from his shoulder. "...Ow... ya know..." was all he managed to
get out before fainting from the pain and
bloodloss.

Lutz TEH Defiant
of Time

Wow! How long were the servers down for?
two days? This is my first post since the begining of
Wednesday I think... I even emailed Dh to see if he'd post on
my behalf when the servers came back up And is it me or has the whole website shifted to
the right? Anyway, here goes....
As he
was leaving the damaged corridor behind Lutz was hit in the
back by a spell, a spell he recognised as vol. The Frad Mantle
he wore though was protection enough for it, but not for the
next one... as he turned to see his assailant, who he'd
already surmised would be the dark mage, he was caught by a
blast of dark energy, fully in the chest. Lifting him clean
off of his feet he was slammed into a wall, where the laser of
a TriBlaster caught him too. He lay at the bottom in a world
of hurt, attempting to gather the will to rise. He could make
out the shadowy form of a black mage dissapearing down to the
lower floor. Summoning what remained of his strength Lutz
stood and headed to the rails that overlooked the lower floor.
It was obvious that he was at least two floors higher
than everyone else, for he could see the carnage below. Havoc
was everywhere. Not only were the combatants fighting each
other they were also fighting the people of this world, these
“SeeDs” he’d heard about over the tannoy, and they were good.
Blades, whips, guns, they were all being used against the
strange newcomers. Three of them had cornered a women and were
taking it in turns to attack her. Although he didn’t recognise
her he knew he must help. Fighting against such overwhelming
odds was not fair.
“Savol!” Shouted Lutz, his Psycho
Wand pointing at the three men. Three bolts of electricity
shot at them, each one hitting. The SeeDs collapsed to the
ground, dead, they’re nervous systems backfired against
they’re own muscles. the same technique had previously failed
against himself, but the SeeDs weren't prepared to resist a
blow like Savol. The young woman stood up, dusting her dress
off, she didn’t seemed to be too badly hurt. Nonetheless…
“Gires!” Shouted Lutz, bringing forth the healing
light. The young woman looked up at him, a smile of thanks on
her lips before she darted down a corridor.
Below the
fight raged on, seemingly more intense than ever. Several
bodies lay dead, but none that he recognised. Knowing that
his encounter with the Black Mage had left him in a weakened
state he realised he'd not be able to do anything about it.
“Diablos! I need you! Disable everybody! Stop the
fighting!” Shouted Lutz to the air.
Several SeeDs
looked around at the sound, hearing the words of the guardians
name. Up above a strange thing was happening on the
ceiling. Where the supports and the cross-beams for the vast
ceiling were there was a movement. The shadows that were cast
against them from the up-lights in the small lakes were
shifting, as though alive. They moved quickly, in small
dartful flicks, heading towards the centre of the vast roof.
More and more joined, coalescing into a giant black orb, some
20 foot in diameter. Below the fighting had stopped in all but
the fiercest of skirmishes, everyone was staring up above.
Diablos was slowly emerging from the shadows, his wings
beating slowly to keep him aloft. He stopped just below, and
grinned, right at the Black Mage who had appeared
below, two bodies of SeeDs at his feet. Raising his hand
up above he summoned forth streamers of light, each one seemed
to caress the shadow from which he emerged. The noise was
awful, the screeching of light against dark in solid states.
The light streams become denser, moving closer and closer to
the orb… Diablos arched his back and seemed to pull the orb
down, his light struggling to move the darkness up above.
”Like an immovable object being pulled by an
unstoppable object…” Murmured Lutz to himself, fearful of what
the result would bring.
The darkness was distorting,
like a liquid metal 50 feet up. Suddenly the darkness gave
way, like a dam bursting. The light pulled it downwards as
Diablos literally threw it towards the ground. The
light had vanished, but the momentum was carrying it on, and
the friction of the solidified dark made against the air was
enough to drive Lutz to his knees. Gazing outwards he saw the
damage being done, the sheer destruction being caused. The
people were forced to the ground, benches were bent over
double, rubbish bins were flung sideways as though hit by a
missile. The floor splinted, one the banks near the lake
broke, and water gushed out everywhere. Then it was gone. And
all that was left behind was destruction. The central pillar
for the complex had a huge crack running up the side and there
was a general background noise of masonry under great strain.
On the floor there wasn’t much movement, people were in too
much pain. Some didn’t move. Even the Black Mage could just
about rise to his feet, and his left arm looked broken.
Lutz stared in horror… what have I done!? he
said, backing away… ”What have I done!?” he
shouted, fleeing the scene.

WEAPON FFO Survivor VI:
Umaro
|
Umaro scanned his new surroundings.
Everything had a bright tone to it, dozens of people were
wearing the same clothes, and stone fish were shooting water
into a large fountain that wrapped around a huge pillar. "This
place pretty. Me wonder where to start fi- Huh?!" He stopped
short when an unbelievable aroma filled his nose, and
captivated his senses.
"What is that smell?!" Umaro
mumbled in awe. He sniffed the air a few more times, his mouth
watering more and more with every passing second. It was food.
It had to be food. Sweet delicious sustenance(well, as much
sustenance as you can get from cafeteria food)! It called to
him, beckoning him, to come forth and reap it's fruits. Umaro
tried to show restraint, reminding himself that he was in a
tournament.
Then his stomach reminded him, most
painfully at that, that he hadn't eaten in two days.
"RRAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!" With that primal
roar, he charged down the hallway like a mad bull. His nose
guided him as he stampeded over a dozen people along the way,
SeeD and competitor alike. When he reach the cafeteria, he
breathed in deeply. The smell was stronger than ever now,
coming from behind a large counter. He let out a small moan as
his anticipation grew.
"Hey! What do you think you're
doing here furball?!" A SeeD cadet called out to the entranced
yeti. He tried to rush the sasquatch, but he was quickly
knocked unconscious as Umaro shot his fist at the annoying
voice that distracted him from his search for food. He jumped
over the counter, and made his way to the very source of the
intoxicating stench.
He was there. This was it. These
little red sticks in bread were the entity that had grabbed
his soul, and had brought him to this place. He couldn't hold
back any longer. He ran to tray of hotdogs, and began to gorge
himself relentlessly on the Balamb Garden meal of choice.
Everyone in the cafeteria was now focused on the
humanoid beast that was sucking down hot dogs as if they were
air. A blue haired woman in royal garb felt queesy as small
scraps of hotdog barely escaped the sasquatch's jaws in it's
sloopy feeding frenzy. A magician in a red cape almost turned
green. Slash, having already seen how Ozzie put away food, was
the only one who wasn't disturbed by Umaro's atrocious eating
habits.
"Good thing I got some of those while they
lasted" He thought to himself as Umaro finished off the
the last of the hotdog's, and proceeded to inhale the near
food tray.
About thirty minutes later, it was finally
over. He let out a massive sigh, and slowly walked out of the
cafeteria, content with himself. Nobody tried to stop him from
leaving. They were all still in a state of shock and stupor.
"Zell's not gonna like this...." The cafeteria lady
muttered.

Bloody

Gau was once again
swapped into an unfamiliar place. But this time, he was not
afraid, because Relm is with him, hand in hand.
"Let's
go, Gau"
"Woo!!"
Gau was glad. It had been
such a long time since he saw Relm. He had been away in the
forest for far too long. So long...he had forgotten how it
feels to touch another human's hand. Relm's hand was
small, but very warm. Gau was very happy to be with someone to
accompany through this journey. He had met too many weird
people, some just knock him in the nose without saying
anything, some just set traps to injure him. He was afraid. He
had trust humans ever since he was with Locke and Celes. But
ever since the fight against Kefka, he was alone again. He
could not trust anyone but himself, because everyone is out to
hurt him.
But now, he was with Relm. He was not afraid
anymore.
"Oh my! What the...this place is huge!!!"
Relm exclaimed excitedly.
"Woo! Gau like, big place!"
Gau was very excited. This place was big and very
foreign. There are people wearing strange looking blue clothes
walking around and they all turned to stare at Gau when he
began wailing.
"Are you here for the exams? If you
are, please lower down your volume. The exam is about to
start. You will be penalised if you shout again."
Gau
look up and saw this tall, brown hair man with a scar between
his eyebrows. He look a little like Locke, but was more stern.
His black leather jacket and belts around his waist made him
look really smart and in his right hand, he held a big object
that seems like a gun, but yet it has blade at the tip of the
gun. Gau wonder what that was.
"Squall, he is just a
kid. Stop scaring him like that. You ought to loosen up!"
Gau turned and saw a black long hair woman, with
strips of brown on her side of her hair. She was wearing this
blue like coat and black tights and was gorgeous...almost as
gorgeous as Celes...
"But I was younger thn them when
I came to SeeD!" said the man named Squall.
"Oh, come
on, Squall," the woman laughed and turned to Gau. "Hre for the
exams? Please proceed this way!"
With that, the woman
grabbed Gau and Relm and pulled them into a room...
Gau was utterly confused...

Zio
|
OOC: One quick post before going to bed.
_________________________________________________ Zio
trekked through the expansive passage way at the center of
Balamb Garden. He could tell there had already been minor
amounts of damage to the building from all of the fighting. A
devious smile crossed his lips, knowing he had a part in
causing some of it.
As he walked, he passed a passage
with an odd sign hanging above it: "Cafeteria". Curious, he
had almost started to head down the walkway when he noticed a
huge, white beast devouring everything in sight. "Perhaps
another time," Zio thought to himself, deciding a confronation
with such a brute would do him no good at this point.
He continued walking, his pace picking up as he grew
impation with travel; he wanted action, and most of it seemed
to be directed elsewhere. Just then, an enormous event
occurred.
The entire building rumbled, straining under
the might of something massive. He looked around to see what
may have been the cause of the trouble; a gigantic beast was
casting some insane spell that looked eerily similar to Nagra,
only amplified ten fold. It reminded him of the encounter with
Setzer only a few short days before.
The spectacle
continued, rending and tearing scaffolding, tiles.... and
bodies. Above it all, he could see the shape of a very
familiar figure standing upon a balcony, seemingly controlling
the entire destructive mess. "Lutz," Zio said to himself.
"Have you finally decided to serve Dark Force?" He could only
help but grin.
His grin, however, quickly turned to
pain as the gravitational pull finally became too intense to
bear. Latching on to Zio's body with some unseen force, the
gravity spell had caused Zio's arm to be pulled from its
socket, rendering it useless for the time being.
"Damn
you, Lutz!" he yelled up at the balcony. "Your days are
numbered, fool!"
Then, as suddenly as it all happened,
it was over. Bodies lay upon the floor, crushed, mangled. The
entire structure of the building looked as though it would
snap in two with the weight of a feather. "...but Dark
Force would be proud of you, Lutz. Take pride in
knowing you served Darkness!" he cackled to himself, his grin
returning, the pain in his arm seeming insignificant.
Zio continued trapsing along the now-ruined path.
Grimacing slightly as the pain returned to his arm. Before
much time passed however, he encountered a girl wearing an odd
blue uniform, and a.... thing... wearing brightly coloured
shrouds. They both seemed dazed; it looked like the perfect
time to have some fun.
Holding up his good arm, he
pointed his hand toward the girl in the blue dress, uttering a
simple word.
"GIZAN!"
Gusts of wind
swirled all around, carrying debris through the air and
hurling it at the girl, the force sending her reeling through
the air to collide with the shrouded person, knocking it off
balance as well and causing it to fall to the ground, the girl
landing on top of it.
Zio chuckled to himself. "I may
be down one arm for now... but I've still got my magic!"

From the relative safety of an
airduct, the young dragon shuddered at the attack of the Dark
Messenger.
Senseless... Some must be
harmed for the sake of survival, but no need to crush them
all...
Noting two of her friends had been
caught in the enormous ball of dark energy, Flammie leaped
from the airduct and swooped overhead, a multi-target Heal
Light shining from her paws. Angela and Randi rose to their
feet, wounds healing. A young red-headed girl in a yellow
minidress rose to her feet as well, having been caught in the
spell's effect.
"Woo-hoo! Thanks!" She cried, turning
and clocking a charging boy over the head with her nunchaku.
Flammie flew upwards, looking over her shoulder to
witness the unfolding recovery...
And collided
headfirst with a dangling section of conduit.
Flammie
and the hunk of debris tumbled downward. Flammie pulled out of
the dive, but the debris did not. The hunk of pipe landed on a
boy clad in green who had just risen from the floor, thus
knocking him back down again.
A knight rose to his
feet, arm raised in Flammie's direction. Fire crackled from
his fingers, shooting forth in an immense fireball. Flammie
rolled to one side, hoping to dodge the fireball. It worked...
for a moment. The fireball shot past her and detonated in
midair, the shockwave sending her tumbling away. She carefully
straightened out and swerved to avoid hitting a wall. Turning
her head, she spat a small fireball (Like she'd have large
fireballs at this size. ) at the cloaked figure. She then turned and sought
the man who had wrought such destruction upon the halls.
She found him running through a corridor lined in
yellow carpet.
"Frrrrame Wall!"
The mage skidded to a top as a wall of fire roared
from the ground in front of him. He spun around and eyed the
small dragon warily as she approached, flame spurting from her
nostrils in rage.
"Yuuuu hurrrt Frrammie
frrrriendss! Frrammie TOASSST yuuu! Magic Barrrierr!"
As the spell took effect, Flammie's form was surrounded in a
sphere of blue, rippling energy which quickly faded.
Lutz straightened himself. "Listen!" He leaped aside
to avoid a howling disc of wind.
"Hurrrrt

"AHHH!" Lutz flailed frantically at
his cloak, which had just caught fire. "Damn it, it was an

"Nnnot rrrikerry! ICE

Lutz cried out as he was pelted with
shards of ice. "Listen! I had no idea what that creature would
do! We're in new worlds! New rules! If I could cure everyone
hurt by that blast, I would!"
Flammie paused in her
onslaught. "Whyyy call it?"
"I...

around."
the fire in Flammie's eyes (And nostrils)
dimmed. "Hurrr... Noble goalsss. Bad

Culex's eyes
opened once more, this time to the sight of a massive,
colorful building seemingly alive, with grass and plants
growing along the sides and wide, welcoming platforms and
hallways. The last thing I can recall was that White Knight
battling the Skull Kid atop the Clock Tower. And suddenly we
are here. Is this Lady Yume's sense of humor, or is there some
reason for our fight to be among non-combatants? I hope that
there are still worthy Knights left after the last
battleground. He cast his eyes down, looking himself over.
It seems that I need some new garments... these are torn.
And I am also hungry. It has been over a day since I have
eaten last... though hunger brings me no pain, it is pleasant
to eat.
He walked toward the front part of the
Garden, for so the massive structure was. Several humans,
weapons drawn, blocked the entryway into the massive building.
Culex's red eyes narrowed, and started to glow a bright golden
yellow as the Earth Crystal appeared beside him. "Would you
block my way? Would you challenge me?"
One of the
humans took a step forward, and Culex saw that he carried a
lance in his left hand. "I'm a SeeD, a mercenary soldier of
Balamb Garden. You're one of the people attacking us, aren't
you?"
The Vandan gave a cold, humorless laugh. "I am
with the band that is attacking you, but I have no quarrel
with the weak. I am Culex, Dark Knight of Vanda, and I have
crossed the dimensions to challenge the strongest Knights."
His eyes grew wider as the other humans drew weapons also.
"Very well." He slowly raised his hand and extended it, palm
down, at the group. The Earth Crystal lit immediately and
bathed the hard, even floor with its golden light before
summoning a Boulder avalanche to strike them down.
Culex noted with apathy that a young woman with vibrant hair
who had been running past was flattened also, though she took
the blow better than the 'SeeDs,' who had yet to move. Culex
stepped over them and advanced to the gates.
An older
human was still speaking into a device of some kind and the
Vandan ears easily heard, "...the Headmaster. Let him know,
and get the SeeDs. This is an attack!"
Culex's hard,
glowing eyes swept over the shattered turnstile and he stepped
through, ignoring the old man's threatening gestures. A young
human in a black shirt and blue shorts had charged out into
the wide, open entryway and was facing Culex and several other
of Yume's Chosen behind him. This human squared off with
Culex.
"Get the h--- outta our Garden!" He charged,
fists and feet moving in high speed, marking the man as a
clear martial artist.
"I have not even offered my
challenge," stated Culex icily as he dodged the attack, "and
you would strike me nevertheless? You are bold, human. But
your strength and daring will not give you victory." As though
to emphasize the point, Culex jabbed his claws hard into the
man's stomach, and he doubled over in pain. Culex continued
with a rock-hard punch to his face, still with the tremendous
speed accumulated over centuries of pratice. The human went
flying backward, and his companions, all dressed in dark blue
uniforms, went to help him.
Culex ignored them and
gated past, emerging in a circular pathway with a cylindrical
device before him and leading upward, while two hallways swept
around in a sort of semi-circle.Admirable architecture. It
is unlike the Dark Plane. The Vandan turned his gaze to a
young, short female and beckoned her over, which she nervously
did. He looked her over, noticing the same blue uniform. She
had no great power, and was probably not very proficient with
the vibro-knife strapped to her belt. "I am Culex, Dark Knight
of Vanda. I have crossed into this dimension to fight against
this world's strongest Knight."
She looked up at him.
"Oh, so you're a fighter? There's a bunch of people like you
that just came here. You should try the training center." She
pointed down the hallway to the right. "It's near the end; you
can't miss it, it says 'training center' on the sign."
He bowed. "I thank you." He continued onward, then the
female behind him charged and lunged at his back. Culex was
expecting the attack but not its speed, and the dagger tore
another hole into the back of his robe. My decision is
made. I need new garments. But first.... "You have made an
ill decision, human." He struck, with amazing agility, at the
side of her neck, and the girl dropped to the ground
instantly.
The Vandan walked along the side of the
hallway toward the Training Center, ignoring the various
humans and accidently stepping on a small mammal who was
running about, a broken spear in hand. The creature quickly
got back up and... started dancing? What is this? I have no
time for animals or their petty games. Culex summoned a
mid-sized Flame Stone and it struck the furry creature
and flung him to ground, slight burns showing on its back.
He finally reached the Training Center, magically
putting another pair of humans to sleep to avoid injuring
them. While civilian casualties are none of my concern,
Lady Yume has warned us in the past to avoid harming
innocents. I would not disobey her wishes.
Another
non-warrior was approaching out of the training center,
dressed in the simple garb of a rogue. What is this?
"Would you challenge me, then, thief?"
The man was
enraged instantly. "Call me a thief and I'll rip your lungs
out!"
Culex blinked, the still-golden eyes fading
slightly. "Lungs... ah, what you humans breathe your horrible
oxygen with. I see. Do you intend to make good your threat,
human?" The man started to draw a thieves' blade from his
scabbard, but Culex could not tell if it was a mere dagger or
a Knight's sword. "Do you challenge me? Very well. I am Culex,
Dark Knight of Vanda."
"I'm Locke-- treasure
hunter extraordinaire!" he declared proudly.
"You
are not a Knight? Wait a moment... a human female knew of you,
one whom I fought."
Locke's eyes lit up. "Celes? Did
you meet her?"
The Dark Knight shook his head. "I did
not receive her name. But she was a Knight and fought with the
power of the Rune Sword." He frowned as he saw the thief's
excited visage, adding, "...but I have not seen her since the
first round. In any event, you wished to fight with me...?"
The human nodded and then charged, striking several
times at Culex but not landing a single hit as the Dark Knight
parried, crystalline claws easily holding back the blade. "Not
bad, whatever you are. Now, try this!" He closed his
eyes as he prepared a spell, and energy from the Esper within
allowed him to focus a powerful blast of ice and snow at the
Dark Knight, who recoiled, though the Crystal absorbed much of
the force.
"Well met, human. I suppose that it is my
turn now." Culex gazed at the thief and then snapped his
fingers as the Earth Crystal focused a trace beam into the
ground, causing a tremor and then a spike of pure rock to
shoot into Locke, which rose beneath his legs and shot him in
the air, and he landed, in intense pain. The Crystal's
mastery of Earth is such that even Bowser's Crusher is known
to it, now that he is gone. Fascinating. He then fired a
white beam from his open hand and Locke fell to the ground,
asleep. "The woman fell in the same manner. I hope that you
are able to find her, human. Happiness is elusive, even to the
strong." He sighed as he stepped over the sleeping man's body.
This reminds me. After I am done here, I will need to find
Lady Yume.
The Training Center contained a variety
of monsters and other beasts, and several humans were engaged
in battle with them. Evidently humans had the option of
"training" by battling live monsters. They did not know,
obviously, that a warrior could only improve by defeating
another Knight in battle.
He ignored them until he
came across a human several years older than most of the
others. He was sitting with his back to a tree, and had a
device in his hands that he was using to teleport items from
an unknown location. Various bottles, probably potions, were
on the ground. He looked up as Culex approached him."Hail,
human. Are you a merchant?"
He blinked. "Er... well,
yeah, kind of. Call me Joker-- member of the Card Club." He
stood and offered his hand to the Vandan, but Culex did not
take it, being unfamiliar with the gesture."OK... well, what
can I interest you in?" His annoyance with his guest was
beaten by his curiousity, and Joker was still speaking
politely.
Culex did not waste words. "I need
garments." That was all. His voice was cold, and hard, and
probably impatient.
The human swallowed. "Uh... sure.
What kind? I mean, the tailors I can order from have just
about anything. You know-- shirts, pants, shorts, uniforms,
suits, three-piece, semi-formal, what?"
The Vandan
stared. How complicated. "I would like the best you
have. Ah...." he looked over the computer panel that Joker had
held to his face, showing him various pictures.
"Why
don't you order it yourself? It'd be easier that way." He
showed Culex the various controls of the device, which the
Vandan found simple enough, and sat back down.
The
Dark Knight pressed the "view" option and saw a list of items
in white text atop a grey backdrop. He traced his finger to an
icon of an expensive, stylish dark suit. An image popped onto
the screen and zoomed in, identifying it as a product of
Marcci, tailor to someone in a city called 'Galbadia.' He
pressed the 'order' button on the device, which was labeled as
a 'computer,' and stared in surprise as an odd sound emitted
from it, followed by the word 'connected.' Another box on the
screen opened, and a young female human's portrait was in it.
"Hello, Marcci Tailor Office. First clothing outlet in
Galbadia able to warp purchases! Please state your name and
place your hand on the sensor for scanning." Her voice was
high-pitched and sounded, as humans would say, 'perky.' It was
annoying.
Culex obliged as placed his hand to the
indicated mark on the screen. Evidently the technology used
for 'warping' was two-way. "I am Culex, Dark Knight--"
"I don't need titles, sir, just the name. I'm Clarice,
in case you're wondering."
"Why hello, Clarice." he
stated in his usual cold voice.
She rolled her eyes.
"Yeah. Oh... well, that's odd." Her digital face looked at him
closely through the screen. "...are you six feet, six inches?"
"In your way of measurement, yes. Is there a problem?"
The woman shook her head but asked another question
anyway: "Neck, nineteen inches?"
The Dark Knight put
his hand over the muscular crystal-hard flesh. "...yes, I
believe so."
"Oh, well, I just wanted to make sure
this wasn't broken. It has you at 672 pounds."
"That
sounds about right for this form, yes. Now, would you
please--"
She interrupted him again. "Very well, sir.
We should have this to you in about half an hour. Please be
ready with your Gil Card upon retrieval of the item." She
disconnected after a nod from Culex.
Joker made to
take the device back, but Culex's hand lanced out to his
trapezius muscle and pressed the nerve there, and the man fall
to the ground with a thud. Purple claws quickly reached into
the man's pocket and removed his card, and scanned it into the
computer. It matched the data Joker had already inputted and
paid for Culex's purchase. After a mild twinge of conscience,
the Dark Knight tossed several gold coins atop the man's
sleeping body.
The Vandan sighed and sat down along
the hard wall behind him. Thirty human minutes... and then
I can resume my quest. Several of Culex's enemies were
still in the tournament, and Culex was looking forward to
meeting them again. The Dark Knight closed his eyes and
meditated.
And was promptly knocked over by the sounds
of battle far overhead. What's this? He concentrated
and felt the area around him. Hmmm... four, maybe five
powerful essences of energy that exist in this plane and
another. And they seem to have the influence of Leo. Hmmm...
he seems to be in a state of stasis.... Ah, and there is Lady
Yume, just finished with a duel, it seems. I wonder who her
unfortunate victims are? I cannot feel them at all, right
now.... No matter. But things are certainly getting more
interesting... I am glad I accepted her offer, though I am
starting to regret my limited role. I hope that Leo recovers
soon. He could easily be the Knight I seek.

- Laike
|
"Owww..."
Laike groaned and
staggered upright, leaning on a blue-green wall for support
while doing so. Not one minute in this new location and he'd
already been barged out of the way by a stampeding yeti,
bellowing as it headed straight for a doorway marked
'Cafeteria' just ahead of him. That was probably another
competitor, though, since from the looks of this place it
wasn't a natural habitat for snow-beasts.
Running
water underneath this walkway... pale blues and greens all
around... these people don't really go in for bright
colours, Laike thought to himself while taking in the
surroundings. And would it really hurt to get a
little vivid decoration added to this place?
Laike
shrugged. Oh, well. Looking around for his fallen bow,
he got another shock; it was missing! Only a minute and some
scoundrel'd pinched it! Laike looked around frantically,
especially at the children - Why are there some many armed
kids in this place, anyway|? - and eventually saw it on
the back of a blonde-haired man in an large area off the
central corridor.
Laike ran after him and skidded to a
halt on the smooth floor not far behind the man. "That bow's
mine, I believe, and I'd appreciate it if you returned it
before things get messy," he called across the Quad compound,
challenging the culprit.
The man turned, showing his
face. "I'd say it was finders keepers, old man. You weren't
using the bow sprawled out on the floor, so I thought it
needed a more careful owner.
"Look me up after the
tournament, you can have it," Laike grated, drawing his sword.
"But in the mean time, I need that weapon and don't like the
idea of a thief making off with it."
"That's TREASURE
hunter!" the man shouted, drawing his own blade and charging
Laike. He barely caught the blue-sheened weapon on the edge of
his shield, hammering it away to the left and catching the
thief on the chin with his sword's hilt. The man stumbled
backwards and collided with another, a dark-skinned knight
with a green surcoat and blond hair.
The thief turned
quickly, in case he had to defend himself against two
attackers, and felt his jaw drop. Laike took to opportunity to
leap backwards and land in a more defensive posture, taking in
the other contestants in the Quad and the teen soldier who'd
been apparently chasing the other man.
"Leo?" the
thief asked the second man in an amazed voice. "I thought you
were dead!"
"I've been hearing that a lot recently,
Locke," Leo replied laconically. "I was dead, but Yume
offered me a chance in this tournament to avenge myself on
Kefka. Now it seems I find myself without a purpose."
The thief - Locke - smiled at this and thumbed
backwards towards where Laike was waiting. "Then for the
moment, would you help me deal with this guy?"
"With
pleasure," the knight replied, loading something into a weapon
he'd recently aquired while Locke rushed forward to attack
again.
Laike staggered backwards as Locke's sword
clashed against his own, and Locke delivered a fast strike to
the lower left that got past Laike's guard and badly slashed
his thigh. He moved to counter and strike on Locke's body,
unguarded by the ferocity of that blow, but a hail of
projectiles from Leo's weapon hammered against his shield and
forced him back again.
In desparation, Laike dug into
his bomb bag and ignited the fuse, throwing the explosive
towards his foes. The blast rocked the walls of the compound
area, but when the smoke cleared his opponents had only taken
minor injuries. The students in the area, however, were all
backing away from the combatants in fright.
Laike
readied himself for a second attack from the two, wondering
why fighters like those kids would be frightened by a simple
bomb, and was shocked to see the same looks of
astonishment/fear on his opponents' faces. "Had enough, lads?"
he cried out sardonically. "This isn't a picnic, you know, so
don't fight me unle---"
"WHO AMONGST YOU DARES TO
ENTER COMBAT WITH ME, MORTALS?," a thunderous voice boomed
out from behind Laike.
Oh, crap.
Laike
felt the hot steam of breath on the back of his neck, and
could still hear the echoes of that terrible voice through his
bones. Dreading what he would see, Laike turned to see a giant
- a monster - of a man astride one of the largest
horses Laike had ever seen his his life. The horse itself was
red-eyed, and its six hooves impatiently dug inch-deep grooves
in the marble flooring.
The man astride this
hell-beast wore the heaviest armour that Laike had ever seen,
and carried a wickedly curved sword that was fully half again
as tall as Laike was. His eyes also glowed red, and were
gazing over the contestants still in the quad. "HAVE I NO
TAKERS? DOTH FEAR LIE WITHIN THE BELLIES OF YOU ALL?" he
boomed out again.
A stunned moment passed while
everyone froze.
"THEN DIE!! the demon-knight
roared, his horse rearing up to charge. Laike hadn't survived
for twenty years without magic without knowing when he was
outmatched, and dived to the side while the manic knight
charged through the compound and slashed at several others,
contestant and local alike.
By the Blue Star, what
is happening to us all? Laike thought as he helped some of
the less fortunate get out of the way of the giant maniac or
healed their wounds where possible.

OOC:
Attack votes to Locke, Leo Christophe, Link, Robo, Ayla

them up and I have a hard enough time voting in the first
place!
Also, R-Votes to Lutz, Rydia, Flea and

EDIT: This slightly distorts
HolyKnightWayne's post, since he was attacking Locke too and I
didn't see his post when I was writing, but I figure Locke got
up from the attack and went somewhere else.

"Just...a bit..."
CLICK
"Ah..ha!"
Leo pushed the hatch up and climbed
out into the elavator shaft.
"Hmm...here'll do."
Sitting in the entrance of an air vent, he reached
down back into the lift and bought out the gun. Carefully, Leo
placed one of the pearly bullets into the chamber.
"Right...let's try this on...you."
Lining the
biggest target he could find up in the rifle's sight, Leo
slowly squeezed the trigger.
WAAAAHH!
A beam
of white light as thick as his arm shot out, and the recoil
pushed Leo back into the wall. He bounced off, smashed through
the elevator shaft with an almighty crash, and plumetted 10
feet into the water below.
Leo pushed his head above
water, and looked at the still smoking Exeter floating a
little way away from him. He grinned maniacally.
"Woah!"

Stryfe FFOS6: Zelda
|
Zelda blinked. The worlds had shifted
again, and once again she found herself seperated from her
friends. There was carnage ensuing all over the strange castle
she found herself in. With walls made of metal, windows
showing out at the sky everywhere you looked, and a giant
fountain with blood-stained water flowing in it....
The sights were amazing...but Zelda had no time to
concentrate on them for long, as she was immediately attacked
by a squad of guys in black suits carrying various weapons...
"Get out of our Garden..." Said one who was presumably
the leader, as he was the only one not in uniform. He was
carrying a strange weapon, with a blade made of crystal
attached to some...revolving device with a trigger.
"I'm sorry...I'm not here of my own accord....but I
can't leave just yet....I don't mean to harm any of you..."
"Whatever....Attack!!!"
Zelda looked around
before chanting a few words "Din's Fire!!"
Flame
engulfed the entire lower floor of the garden, with power that
even amazed Zelda. People lay, strewn all over, contestants
and SeeD's alike.
"My god.....This world must enhance
my magic somehow.....oh god....how many have I hurt...?"
"So...That's your idea of not meaning to hurt anyone
huh?" the leader was still standing. His coat was singed, but
he was standing. He pulled his weapon from its sheath, and
prepared to attack. Zelda pulled out her bow and latched an
arrow onto it.
Zelda let out the first attack, the
arrow went wide. Squall ran at her and swung. "Nayru's love.."
Zelda whispered to herself, as a blue barrier appeared around
her and the blow went to the side harmlessly. "UUgh...What was
that?" Said the leader angrilly. "Whatever....It doesn't
matter...DIE!!!"
Squall ran back to get ready for his
next blow, and Zelda took the opportunity to put another Arrow
on her bow. "Din...Nayru...Farore...Guide my arrow....Bless it
with your light..." Zelda pulled back, and the arrow started
glowing with a golden light. "Light Arrow" she whispered as
she shot the arrow directly at Squall. He blocked it with his
gunblade....which immediately slammed back into him with an
amazing force. The gunblade hit his chest...and he proceeded
to fly backwards...right out a window...and right into the
ocean below them.
"Well...." Zelda gasped. "This world
is enhancing my powers considerably....I wonder why...." Zelda
walked forward and picked up the strange weapon. "Hmm...I
could use something more close-range...if only I could figure
out how to use it....oh well..." Zelda put the weapon in the
side of her belt and walked onward. ----------

The press of bodies was overwhelming
as the Garden suddenly became abuzz with activity. The
intruders had been classified as a high-level threat after the
few first encounters left students bloody and battered. Even
the mighty disciplinary committee had had trouble with one of
the trespassers. The girl had dispatched so easily it was
almost comical.
Not all of the unwelcome guests proved
to be as bellicose as the raven-haired youth. Some were indeed
fighting alongside the Garden’s defenders to suppress the more
violent intruders. The blond elfin boy was one of these,
engaging a man with a strange mask on in single combat. The
green-clad young man seemed to be slightly overpowered by the
other combatant, and it was only getting worse as they fought.
Fight it! I know you’re strong enough to break the
Mask’s control!
The other’s expression was a mix
of pain and hatred, as many conflicting emotions fought on his
face, the battle being a mirror of the one being led deep
inside his being.
Leave! he cried with an
anguished voice. I won’t be able to hold back its power
much longer!
He stopped attacking so suddenly that
Link almost stumbled into him. Leo’s eyes shone brightly with
a dark and unholy light. His mouth split in a big, menacing
grin.
You should have listened when you had a
chance. There won’t be much left of you after I’m done…
He lunged at the blond swordsman with his blade over
his head, aiming to crush Link with a downward blow. Sparks
rained above their heads, as the Master Sword held firmly to
the onslaught, despite the Mask’s considerable power. The
combatant gritted their teeth and parted, each taking a step
back before leaping at each other once more. They made several
passes in this fashion, each time nipping and nicking one
another, Leo’s distracted manner being the only thing that
kept him for dominating the exchange.
As he made
another pass, the former White Knight noticed a disturbance in
the air. The Mask had given him the ability to attune to
sources of power, and the one he had just sensed was quite
significant.
He barely managed to dodge the tremendous
blast of energy fired his way. The boy had not been so lucky.
His body was flung to the far side of the corridor, landing
with a resounding thump.
Such base tricks will not
work against me hissed the Mask. You will pay for your
lack of respect!
A harsh whisper came from the
direction of the spiky sliver figure.
*bzzzt* Only
the Master deserves respect. *bzzzzzt* Die.
The Mask was able to follow the displacement of matter
and energy, but the body was much too slow to respond. Leo’s
back exploded with pain, and his world became darkness…
The silver construct loomed over the fallen warrior.
It knew he would not stay down for long, since it could feel
the Mask’s power. It had yet to determine why, or more
specifically, how, it could ‘know’ or ‘feel’ in the first
place…

'Who the hell......?'
Slowly, she set

Coming
down a long corridor near a dazzling fountain, she saw the
shrouded figure that she had met when travelling with her
slightly eccentric but incredibly friendly and generous

stunningly beautiful and vibrant young woman, who appeared to
know where she was going, and was showing him the way.
She ran towards the strange pairing.
'Gogo
wasn't it? You're Mog's friend?' She said, rather desperately.
The figure nodded.

Zelda walked toward the fountain, whose
waters were turning ever redder.
Cloud was right
back at the gold Saucer....there's too much pain here...people
getting hurt..... Zelda's thoughts couldn't last for long
though, as she was hit in the back of the head by an angel
frisbee, and knocked backwards into the blood-stained
fountain.
"Ouch..uunn...what was that..." Zelda turned
to see a robed man and a girl dressed in blue looking at her,
the girl with her arm outstretched and perparing to fire
another shot. "Hey!! What'd I do to you? I don't want to hurt
anyone!!!"
The girl looked at Zelda angrilly. "Then
why'd you hurt Squall?!?!" Zelda thought for a minute, "You
mean the guy that attacked me?!"
Rinoa prepped her
Shooting Star once again. "Yes! He was just defending
garden..." She shot it at Zelda, who dodged out of the way and
prepared an arrow quickly. "Ice arrow" she said to herself as
she shot it straight at Rinoa. The arrow found its target, and
completely froze Rinoa...and the man next to her....and most
of the water in the fountain.
"Uugh...I've gotta be
careful with this magic...its too powerful in this world...."
Zelda walked to the frozen Rinoa, noticing she'd dropped
something moments before the arrow had hit her. "Hmm...what is
this? It would seem to be some kind of weapon...", Zelda
attached it to her arm, and let it fire once. It shot, went a
few yards and then came back to her. "Hmm..this could prove
quite useful.."
And with that, Zelda walked off to try

The Swordsman had
explored the area around the main hall, and he was still
amazed at the look and feel of the place.
So
different…
He had managed to drive back the few
locals who had attacked them, but stronger ones were being
sent each time. He didn’t mind the challenge so much, since it
kept him ready and alert for any of the other participants he
might stumble upon.
A scream.
Noooo! Leave
me alone! I told you already, I’m not coming with you!
A strong swooshing sound was followed by several cries
of pain as Angela released air blasts at the approaching
fighters. The blue-clad SeeD cadets recoiled from her attacks
and kept their distance. A few of them looked a bit silly as
they stood before her with their palms outstretched, a look of
extreme concentration on their face.
It’s not
working!
You just saw what she did! Keep drawing until
you can fire something back!
Stop wasting your time
and just charge her!
Three of the seven cadets
took up their weapons and ran towards the girl.
Randi
slammed into the first just as the SeeD was getting close
enough to take a swipe at Angela with his lance. The young
swordsman kicked his opponent hard in the stomach, sending him
crashing into the two who were coming right behind him.
Thanks! said the young woman. They were
starting to get on my nerves.
No problem. I’m just
glad I finally found you. I’ve been looking around for you for
a while now.
Really?
The young man nodded.
At least he had found someone in this madhouse that he could
trust.
A chorus of shrieks of pain sounded from beyond
the pair as an explosion rocked the ground. The cadets went
flying in all directions along with pieces of debris. Randi
threw himself onto Angela, shielding her just in time as a
large metal plate slammed into his side, missing its intended
target.
You’re hurt! She rummaged her small
pack. Here, eat this chocolate. It may not seem like much,
but it’ll heal you up a bit
He smiled and grabbed
the treat from her hand, opening it and munching it down as he
got up to inspect the damage.
What could have
caused this?
The sudden look of fright in Angela’s
face made him follow her stare to the spot where the explosion
had occurred. Stepping out from the wreckage, wispy strands of
smoke parting before it, was a silver creature. It had the
shape of a man, but it was entirely metallic and covered with
spikes.
Get behind me whispered Randi.
But you’re hurt.
Doesn’t matter. You need
space to cast spells, so you’re better off behind me
anyway.
The silver thing kept advancing on them
until it got to a distance that was much too close for the
duo’s comfort. It didn’t move, and from its position, it
seemed like it was staring at them.
Angela spoke up.
We appreciate your help back there. Is there anything we
can do for you?
The was only silence.
And
then a harsh metallic whisper.
*bzzzzt* Yes.
*bzzt* You can perish where you stand.
The
words didn’t come to them as too much of a surprise. Everyone
had been gunning for everyone else lately. The speed and
direction of the attack, however, were totally unexpected. The
machine disappeared from their sight, but Angela was suddenly
struck with a shock as her magical essence was being drained
from her.
Randi turned, but it was too late to do
anything. A kaleidoscope of spinning stars burst onto the
pair, exploding with enough force to knock them senseless.
The silver robot inspected the gaping hole that was
left from the blast. He had not killed them. They were too
strong for such a simple attack to be so effective. But they
had done something to him that no one had ever managed to do
before.
They made him want. They made him desire.
He had wanted to kill them. He had desired their
destruction.

Leo lined another up in his sights.
Him...yes, he was evil.

Wasn't he, as

WAAAAHH!
Who was this? A native, looking

WAAAAHH!
Leo jumped aside shortly
before the blast reached him. He emerged from the centre pool,
dripping wet and gripping tightly to his broadsword. The
native...what the hell was that hat? That hair? No matter.
"Who the hell are you?"
"General Leo
Christophé. You are?"
"You don't know who ah ahm? Why,
ah'm Irvine Kinneas, the greatest sharpshooter in Garden," he
drawled with an insolent grin "if ah do say so mah..."
Leo barely had a chance to move aside as he whipped
the shotgun out and sent two rounds aimed straight at Leo's
chest. Leo jumped aside, and the rouds grazed his shoulder.
"...self." His face was deadly serious now. "Now, you
gonna gimme mah gun back?"
"SHOCK!"
The blast
caught Irvine full on, sending him reeling against the wall.
Leo started to sheathe his sword, when the smoke cleared, and
Irvine struggled up, adjusting a slightly charred Stetson.
"Alrighty then. If y'all wanna play it that way..."
for a few seconds his face took on a vacant cast, as if he was
searching inside his head "...aw crap, all I've got is Carbu-"
WAAAHH!

body. Spilling out from his pocket were several small stones.

Kill.
This place was so drab. Everyone was
dressed the same tasteless, bland way. The walls were all
pastel. Pastel! Didn’t they know anything about fashion? About
the way colors could mix and mingle to produce such wondrous
effects?
Apparently not… She had walked out
into the Quad, and the silent clash of colors made her a bit
squeamish.
Geez. Not even the Empire demonstrated
such bad taste. I mean, sure, Kefka was flamboyant and all,
but at least he knew his facepaints.
Grrrau?
Hm? Oh, just talking to myself. What do you think of
this place?
Rrrr. Smell… strange…
Like
disinfectant, right?
The wild boy stared at her
with a confused expression.
Nevermind. C’mon, let’s
go take a look over there!
They made their way to
the edge of the area. As they moved away from the bulk of the
building, the duo was greeted with a magnificent view of the
ocean. It stretched as far as the eye could see, sunlight
playing softly over its sapphire surface.
Look!
Look! It’s so beautiful!
Waterrr… not nice…
No one’s asking you to dive in, Gau. Just look at
it! She sighed. Maybe someday I’ll be able to paint
something that inspires as much peace and tranquility as this…
Relm good at paint! Relm paint pretty picture like
this! Grrrau!
She giggled. Thanks! I’ll try no
to disappoint you!
They leaned on the railing,
gazing out into that wonderful infinity.
A prickle.
The wilds of the Veldt had taught the wild boy to pay
attention when his body acted this way. He felt a chill run up
his spine. This was not good.
He flung himself to the
side, bringing the girl with him. The railing besides them
burst out into the air, trailing smoke as it made its way down
into the water.
Gau! What’s going on?
Relm
stay here!
Gau!
Stay!
He raced out
of the small space between the railing and the building where
he had left the girl, sprinting and leaping in an erratic
pattern to keep his enemy off-guard. But the silver thing just
looked at him, following his movements with what passed for
eyes, not budging one bit.
The wild boy had had enough
of this. He was having such a nice time with his friend, and
some big, ugly monster just came in and blasted them? No! He
wanted to make Relm happy, and no one was going to get in his
way!
Stopping in front of the monster, Gau raged. He
had seen a giant turtle spout fire from his mouth in what
looked like drops of flame, so he decided to do the same.
Calling up his amazing energy reserves, he let loose with a
barrage of fireballs. The superheated cloud created by so many
explosions made the boy’s eyes water, so he leapt back, out of
the way of the burning sensation. As the haze cleared, the
silver construct was nowhere to be seen.
He went back
to the spot where he had left his friend, hoping he could make
up for this interruption. He froze, eyes staring wide. Relm
was lying in a spreading pool of blood. He ran towards her,
panic slowly rising in his heart.
Relm! Relm! Are
you okay?!
Her breathing was shallow, but she was
unconscious. His whole body burned, but he thought it was just
his feelings of outrage towards what had just happened. When
he woke up later, he wasn’t able to tell a what point he had
joined her in that dreamless sleep…
The robot stood
over their battered bodies, but he was not looking at them. He
was contemplating the endless sea. He was considering the fact
that this whole place was nothing more than machinery
suspended in the air. Machinery that he could tamper with.
The cold blue ocean rippled as the wind marked its
passage. An ocean as cold as the inside of a grave…

Darkken The
Scarlet Magician

Angela stumbled several steps back,
trying to recover from the attack put against him by the
strange robotic creature. The spiky monster made of silver
kept advancing towards her. Randi lay unconscious behind the
monster.
"Damn it", Angela thought, "there's no way
I'll get a spell cast in time." Quickly she concentrated her
thoughts on a different option. She wasn't a fighter, but she
wasn't carrying that rod just for show. "YAAA!" she screamed,
as she launched an attack towards the creature. In a split
second, the two contestants landed their blows, and parted
again. Angela felt a new, burning pain, and with a quick look
confirmed that one of the monster's spikes had cut her a wound
in her leg.
"Obnoxious life-form. Your death is
inevitable." the creature's metallic voice surred. The
creature prepared for a new attack, obviously aimed at
finishing her off. Angela took a step backwards, but at the
same time, her wounded leg betrayed her, and she fell down on
the floor. The monster advanced, Angela tried to roll into
safety, but to no avail. Suddenly, where the silver creature
had been, there was a flash of red, and she could hear a voice
shout: "DEATH SPELL!" A mighty blast of magical energy threw
the creature back, and then there was silence at last.
"Death Spell?" Angela thought wearily. "Only one
person has ever learned that spell and-"
"How badly
are you wounded, Princess Angela?" the voice broke through her
thoughts. She could hear some extent of worry in the voice,
even with his blurred senses. She opened her eyes, but unable
to see nothing but a figure of red, as her eyes started to
turn over.
"Who are you? You can't be Koren..." she
tried to say, but incapable of forcing the words to leave her
lips as her fatigue overcame her.
"...Koren would have
never called me... "Princess"..." she thought, and fell
unconscious.

Note to all FF8 re-players: Rename Shiva

Ifrit: "They have...

Ulty: "I shall junction myself unto my ass!"

Driscoll could feel his body, brimming
with power. He flexed his arm, and felt his muscles ripple, as
the GF flexed with him. He smiled, then grinned, then threw
back his head, roaring with laughter.
"Finally... I
have the power.... to summon... summon... SUMMON SHIVA!"
A blast of cold air flew through the room again,
coalescing into a white mist. The wall to Driscoll's left
began to slowly sparkle, as a coating of Ice began to form on
it, misting over the ceiling, and the rest of the room slowly.
A gust of snow filled the room, and with a shower of ice
crystals, coalesced into the form of an icy maiden,
crystalline in form - almost transparent.
Shiva looed
down at Driscoll, and he hair billowed out behind him.
"You.... have summoned me. But you are not the one. Your
intentions are not pure. Why should I serve you?"
Driscoll blinked. This was not what he had expected.
"You.. refuse to obey me?"
"I do."
And at
that, something snapped in Driscoll's head, as the power was
wrenched from his body, snapping the link between them. Shiva
looked around, then giggled. "I'm free... but I cannot stay
for long. But I can have fun before I go..."
...and
with that, she burst through the wall, leaving a frozen ice
panel behind her. Shiva burst out into the courtyard, smashing
a spear of ice into the action outside...
...some were
caught in the blast...

"Damn," Locke winced in
pain as he applied a disinfectant to his arm and wrapped in in
a makeshift bandage. "Well, that should hold for a while,
not a bad job if I do say so myself." This had not been
Locke's day so far. First, a very strange "knight" had
attacked him, sufficiantly humiliating Locke. Then in a battle
with another swordsman, the entire group was suddenly charged
by a beast that looked like Odin. "Oh well, at least I managed
to get a few hits on my attacker before all of that chaos
broke out."
Sighing, Locke stepped out of the bathroom
stall. Much like the ones in Vector, only much cleaner, they
had seemed like a decent spot for Locke to hide until he could
get give some attention to his wounds.
Immediately
upon stepping out of the stall, Locke saw a warrior clad in
black charging towards him. "Not again, what's with this
place?" Locke wondered. He easily dodged the charge, and
managed to get his boomerang off, knocking his attacker onto
his back. "Can't I get a moment's peace?" Locke wondered
allowed.

Ayla
|
Yay, Balamb Garden!!
---------------------------------------- Ayla woke in a strange room, lying on
a white bed. She looked sround to see a plump woman watching
over her. "Ahh, you're awake." Ayla sat up and held
her head. "You were hurt pretty badly out there, you musta
got caught up in some of the comotion. Can you say your name
for me?" Ayla stood up and removed the bandage from her
head. She acknowledged the question, but halted in her answer.
"...Ayla." The Doctor walked over to her laptop and
typed in some info. "Hmmm, your name doesn't seem to be on
the files. Are you new?" Ayla began to walk towards the
exit and the Doctor jumped up after her. "Wait, are you
new?" "...uh-huh." "Ahhhh, that'll explain it, the
files have been taking a while to come through. You should
rest for a few days so your head can heal, ok? Come see me if
you have any questions." The Doctor stepped away from Ayla
and sat back at her table and continued to work on her laptop.
Ayla left the Doctors room and walked out into the
strenge new place. The walkways were filled with many familiar
faces from the previous rounds, and many, many new ones. Most
of them seemed to be wearing a uniform of some sort. "Oh,
another new recruit without a uniform huh?" Ayla turned to
see an oriental woman, dressed in one of those strange
uniforms, standing behind her. "Come with me, and I'll get
you suited up." The woman grabbed Ayla's arm and pulled
her through the crowds of people. usually, Ayla wouldn't have
allowed herself to be forced somewhere, but she was still
dizzy from ehr head injury.
"There we go, now you look
like a real SeeD!" Ayla's headache and dizziness cleared
and she looked about the room. It seemed to be soem sort of
dormitory. "So, what do you think?" Ayla looked
confused until she realised that she didn't feel like she
usually did. She looked down to see that she was dressed in
one of those strange uniforms. Ayla looked shocked and tried
to unbutton the jacket and take it off. "No no no, you've
gotta leave that on, it's the uniform." The woman button
her jacket back up and her brushed Ayla's arms. "Now off
you go, dinner is being served in the cafeteria. Cya around."
Ayla left the room and walked down a similar corridor which
led from the doctors room, and she ended up back in that huge
room with the walkways. She followed the direction of the path
until she saw a bright sign. 'Cafe-ter...tery? terii...teria!'
Ayla thought. 'Mmmmm, woman said dinner in cafeteria. Ayla
want food' Ayla entered the cafeteria and sniffed around for
the food. While she was glancing about, she noticed the same
woman whom she seen in the last Battleground. That same woman
with the orange dress and blue hair. 'Ayla know her from
somewhere.' Ayla thought as she examined the woman. The
strange woman caught sight of Ayla watching her and stared
back at her. 'Is that... is that the Cavewoman??' the
woman thought...

OOC: sorry i'm so late. family problems
>_<
heh, a lot of votes against me, and it seems
like i've been thrown into another scenerio i hadn't planned
for. -_-
(guess i am a threat after
all )
Randi was a little
shooken up from all the blows laid on him during this round.
Everyone was attacking randomly as if they weren't thinking
anymore. Their primal instincts had taken over. The sorceress,
Angela didn't have any heal spells and he knew he should
conserve candy, so he was left with what little fight he had
left.
Why am I wasting my time searching for these
people. I should be defending myself against the slaughter.
This is a tournament after all.
The entire time,
Randi had been persuing his past. Looking for something to
ease the pain of his adventures. The candy wasn't enough, it
was time for him to face his fears and become what Fate had
intended him to be. He had to finally accept his ROLE as a
Mana Knight, and bring order to the chaos.
"I'm sorry,
Angela. I have to be on my own," Randi said. "The man named
Hawk is looking for you. You may already know, but there are
others like you, here also. I suggest you find them and solve
the puzzle of the Mana Sword. My past depends on it." Randi
placed a candy in her hand and closed her fingers over it.
"Take this. You never know when you'll need it."
"Thank you..." Angela said, then paused for a moment.
"I hope you find what you're looking for, too."
Randi
gave Angela a brief salute and winked. "Don't worry about me,
no matter what happens, I've already succeeded." Randi slowly
turned and walked away down the hall linking to the central
office.
OOC: can't really work it into my
story.. But i should probably make use of these counters.

Don't want to mess with other's
storylines, so...
--------
The battle raging
on between the tournament participants and the mercenary force
SeeD had been raging on for some time, and Duran was always in
the thick of it.
Moving from skirmish to skirmish, the
newly-christened Knight was pushing the extent of his new
abilites to the limit, being able to move almost twice as fast
as he had previously, and being able to take more punishment
before getting tired. Usually, he would move into a small
pocket battle and completely overturn the tables, then
gradually move to another battle after he was ready. But, it
was time that even he needed a breather, being continously
outnumbered. The Knight had then hidden himself in one of the
classrooms on the second floor, to recover his stamina.
Duran lay inbetween two of the desks in the back row,
having found a comfortable position that hid his entire body
from most eyes, unless someone made a careful inspection.
Tilting his metal visor downward, the young warrior fell
asleep, mental alarms placed in his head should someone come
near his hiding spot.
